150 boutiques to be launched in Dubai's financial zone

The head of Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) announced the launch of the Gate Avenue project, within the framework of which by the end of 2017, a boulevard with 150 retail outlets will appear in the financial zone.

On April 27, Essa Kazim, the head of Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), announced the launch of Gate Avenue, a boulevard that will connect all the most important sites within the financial district and become the focus of 150 upscale boutiques. Construction is expected to begin this year and be completed by the end of 2017.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Gate Avenue, Essa Kazim noted that the new project at DIFC is an important step towards implementing the development strategy by 2024.

“The project will be very valuable for professionals and residents who currently work and live in the area, and will create an even more attractive offer for potential customers and tenants, as we are working on a world-class infrastructure platform. All this will raise DIFC in the status of one of the most popular destinations in the world. ”

Covering an area of 660,000 square feet, Gate Avenue will consist of the region’s 150 most important boutiques and restaurants. The boulevard will connect the three DIFC zones in such a way that Marble Walk will be in the northern part, serving as a meeting place for professionals and a center for luxury shopping; restaurants will be concentrated in the central zone, which can be reached using the Financial Center metro station; in the southern part will be all the most important facilities for families and access to residential areas of DIFC. Ultimately, the boulevard will form a network of residential and commercial buildings with a total area of 110 acres.

Gate Avenue will host a number of art and design installations, live music concerts and festivals. On the main street there will be a mosque, which will be visited daily by a total of 500 believers. A miniature of the Gate Building will appear here, which will serve as a canvas for digital projections.
