From January 30 to February 2, 2011 in Dubai, under the patronage of Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and ruler of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the first Russian-Emirate campaign "In support of disabled children and Orphans ", organized by the Consulate General of Russia in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, the Russian Public Recognition Foundation and the National INVA-Academy of Arts in collaboration with the Rashid Pediatric Center for Children with Disabilities in Dubai opportunities.
The organizers of the action set a goal to exchange the experience of both countries in such an important matter as training and education of children with disabilities. A carefully developed program of the event and rigorous preparation made it possible to familiarize the public of Dubai with the artwork of the pupils of the Russian INVA Academy, to surround them with warmth, care and attention.
A meeting of children with disabilities was held in a friendly atmosphere at the Rashid Pediatric Center, which was touchingly called the "Meeting of Hearts." Children from different countries sat at the same table and accomplished their feat: they painted, made amazing crafts from rye straw brought from Russia, and embroidered patterns with colorful beads ... In addition, on February 1, 2011, a charity dinner and exhibition were held at the Meydan Hotel and an auction of artworks by children with disabilities, culminating in a joint Russian-Emirate humanitarian action. Gala evening was opened by the Consul General of Russia in Dubai and the Northern Emirates S. A. Krasnogor. In his speech, he emphasized that this meeting should be an important step aimed at strengthening Russian-Emirate relations in the interests of the peoples and children of both countries.
The event was attended by: Dr. Hanif Hassan Ali, UAE Minister of Health, Sheikh Juma Maktum bin Juma Al Maktoum, representatives of government agencies, the diplomatic and consular corps, as well as the Russian diaspora living in the UAE.
