A rare shark attack on fishermen occurred in Fujairah

Fishermen who went to sea from Fujairah (one of the UAE emirates) were attacked by a four-meter shark.

A rare incident occurred in Fujairah (UAE) - a shark about 4 meters long and weighing about 2 tons jumped out of the water into a boat, scaring the fishermen.

Some species of sharks are able to jump out of the water to a height of 5 meters. Obviously, this shark tried to grab one of the fishermen and drag him under the water, but missed. The fishermen managed to cope with the predator, but one of them was injured during a fierce struggle.

A similar attack by a large shark on fishermen was noted in Fujairah for the first time. The sharks that live in the coastal waters of Fujairah are smaller and less aggressive. Fishermen say they have not seen sharks of this species for many years, it seems that the predators have returned. The emirate of Fujairah is located in the east of the UAE, and unlike other emirates, its shores are washed not by the Persian, but by the Gulf of Oman in the Arabian Sea of the Indian Ocean.
