All aspects of repair

They say that one repair is worse than two fires. Most likely, the way it is, if you get down to business on your own and spend the best part of your life on repairs. It would be more correct to entrust the repair and finishing work to professionals. Where to find them? Andrey Kazakov, owner of Stalker Technical Works, shed light on some aspects of his company’s activities and shared plans for the future.

When was your company opened and with what project did it start?

Our company was established on February 15, 2007. Its activity in Dubai began with the decoration of a small apartment in the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR). The customer wanted to make a completely ordinary repair, so to speak, to update the apartment. It turned out pretty well, quickly and without overlays.

What level of projects are you ready to take on? Is it just interior design, or can it be a question of redevelopment, repair, or other types of work?

In principle, we are ready for projects of any complexity. We have many years of experience of intensive work, a lot of successfully completed projects and positive feedback. But in some cases, we do not take up the job. For example: an object is located on the island of The Palm Jumeirah. This is the penthouse at Shoreline Apartments.

The client asks to make in two months both the design and the decoration of the room in the Art Deco style. It is not possible on such a large area. The term of the entire complex of works for such a penthouse can be from four months. Of course, we try to meet customers when it comes to the timing of work, but we do not always succeed. Since the reduction of time leads to a loss of quality.

In general, our work is not only interior design. Rather, this interior design is an application to the general repair and decoration of premises.

Who are your customers? Are there any of our compatriots among the clients of your company?

Yes, of course, among our customers there are many compatriots. Basically, these are our regular customers. What is the reason for this? I think that many clients do not speak English so well, therefore it is easier for them to communicate with a Russian-speaking company and calmer. Still, "their own."

How much time does it usually take to implement one project from a sketch to delivery to a customer?

It’s always different, but some numbers can be given. For example: a studio in JLT (design + decoration) - 1.5 months; restaurant - from 6 months; office in JLT (70 sq. m) - up to 1.5 months; penthouse - 4 months. But these are all relative figures, as one client wants it to be “simple and tasteful,” and the other dreams of a mini-palace. Accordingly, the timing is also different.

What interior solutions do your current customers like?

Today, the Art Deco style is very fashionable and popular. Art Deco (Art Deco or Art Deco) appeared as a style in 1908-1912, and reached its peak between 1925 and 1935. The name came from a kind of abbreviation of the name of the international exhibition of decorative arts and crafts “Exposition Internationale des Art Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes”, which was held in 1925 in France. But Art Deco became the term denoting the artistic style in 1966, after the revival of this exhibition in Paris.

The Art Deco interior can combine oriental or Indian motifs, elements of antiquity with works of modern art in a modern and unusual way. Using both neoclassical forms and streamlining, grace and playfulness of Art Nouveau decor, Art Deco is the embodiment of monumentality and elegance. Today, this style is rightfully considered synonymous with luxury.

Adherents of this style ignore the mass industrial production of goods, they choose the exclusive manufacture of furniture and decor. Favorite products from valuable and expensive materials - snake skin, ivory, bronze, crystal, exotic woods. Favorite accessories are unusual works of Egyptian, African, Chinese and other exotic cultures. The interior in the Art Deco style can be both elegantly classic and expressively ethnic. The main thing is the spectacularity, brightness and luxury of bold combinations.

Is it difficult to maintain a balance between client requirements and designer proposals?

No, absolutely not. We always come to a common denominator.

What is the most difficult and interesting project you have done recently?

Probably, the restaurant “UMI FUSION”, which is located on the boulevard of Jumeirah Beach Residence.

What are your company's future plans?

We strive for further growth, gradually moving to the construction and decoration of villas. Our plans include the implementation of the entire range of work, and not just the decoration and design of the premises. We also plan to open a branch in Ras Al Khaimah.

Thank you, Andrey. Good luck.
