"EMIMUN" is a youth summit, whose participants are students of leading universities in the world who are interested in global issues of the present and striving to become future leaders in their countries. The uniqueness of this event was that a similar format for holding a youth conference was first introduced in the Gulf region. In this, indeed, the first United Nations Emirate International Model, delegates from more than 20 countries took part.
The agenda of all daily plenary meetings was extremely relevant, both for this region and for the whole world. For four days, students represented the interests of their chosen countries in the UN Security Council, discussing the situation in Afghanistan; in the "Human Rights Council", dealing with issues of the right to euthanasia; in the "International Monetary Fund", addressing the problems of sovereign funds, and in the work of the "International Energy Forum", entering into a polemic on the problems of limited information in the formation of energy prices.
Of course, today's students cannot solve many international problems, but the future diplomats, politicians, economists and financiers sat in the seats of the delegates in Dubai, who, after graduating from their universities, will be able to become active leaders, each in their field. In addition, the points of view of the children expressed by them during the meetings were distinguished by their originality and freshness of their approach to problems. Who knows, maybe if the current politicians listened to the opinion of youth, many world problems could find their solution.
The scale of the conference clearly showed that Russian education is consolidating its position at the international level. "UN Models" are held annually at leading universities in the world, such as Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge. Holding such a conference on the basis of a Russian university in the UAE testifies to the competitiveness of Russian education. In addition, the university organizing the UN Model is becoming a center of attraction for students from all over the world.
