In mid-2010, a water taxi will be launched between Dubai and Ajman

According to the Gulf News newspaper, in mid-2010, a new water taxi will be launched between Dubai and Ajman to help reduce traffic density between the two emirates. It is expected that the new taxi will be able to carry more than a million commuter passengers per year. An agreement to create a new mode of transport will be signed by Ajman Municipality and the Dubai Roads and Transport Committee (RTA).

“This project is part of the municipality’s strategy to improve the quality of transport services in the emirate and create partnerships with institutions and organizations of other emirates,” said Muhammad Omar Al-Muheiri, director of planning and study of the municipality of Ajman. “Two water taxi stops will be built in the emirate of Ajman. The first will be located in the Ajman Corniche area, the second in the Fish Market area.”
