The rooms of the “Father and Child”, where men will have the opportunity to change diapers and feed their babies, will soon appear in several shopping centers in the Emirates. The first room for child care for the stronger sex in the United Arab Emirates will be opened in the new shopping center Mirdiff City Center in 2010. The initiative has pleased the leadership of other shopping centers. “I don’t see anything strange in the appearance of such rooms in the Emirates and in other countries,” the representative of Mirdiff City Center said. “There is no cultural shock in this: in the UAE, many fathers take care of their children on a par with their mothers and see nothing wrong with feeding them from a bottle or changing their diapers.”
