In Dubai, parents of schoolchildren warned about the game "Blue Whale"

Media reports of Dubai school parents' concerns about the Blue Whale online game, which allegedly caused dozens of Russian children to commit suicide.

Concerned parents of schoolchildren in Dubai through social networks share information on the deadly Blue Whale game, which is linked to dozens of teenage suicides in Russia, the local newspaper Khaleej Times reports.

The Khaleej Times received a message through the WhatsApp messenger stating: “Parents or anyone who knows about children playing an online game called the Blue Whale, please protect your children from this game. She confronts them with 50 assignments, the last of which is committing suicide. ”

Although game accidents have not been officially confirmed in the UAE, one parent told the Khaleej Times that school representatives sent a warning to parents on Monday urging them to be especially careful when it comes to their children’s downloading to their devices .

A week earlier, similar warnings were made in the UK. Educational institutions from the counties of Hertfordshire and Essex received notifications from law enforcement officers, reports Lenta.Ru with reference to the BBC.

Meanwhile, in Russia itself, many believe that the media, despite the lack of evidence, scare the Russians with news about the suicides of dozens of teenagers, and some "experts" actively give advice to parents.

In May 2016, Lenta.ru published an investigation into the history of the "death groups" in Russia. In November, in the case of "death groups", one of the administrators of such publics, Philip Budeikina, known on the network as Philip Lis, was arrested. According to investigators, the actions of the young man influenced the decision of 15 teenagers to commit suicide, five more were at risk, but they managed to avoid death.
