The world's first Robocop joins Dubai police

The first ever intelligent robot policeman is ready to go on patrol in Dubai.

The world's first Robocop officially joined the Dubai police on Sunday, May 21. The robot, which is 170 centimeters tall and weighs 100 kilograms, is equipped with an emotion detector that can recognize gestures and signals up to 1.5 meters away. He is able to determine whether a person is happy or sad, as well as change their emotions and greet people.

When patrolling the streets, Robocop will use face recognition software to help police officers identify and catch intruders, as well as broadcast live video.

“Robocop, called to provide assistance and assistance to people in shopping malls or on the streets, is the latest“ smart ”supplement to a service that has been developed to help us fight crime, keep the city safe and increase happiness,” said Major General Khalid Nasser Al Razuki, CEO of Dubai Police Intelligent Services.

“The launch of the world's first working Robocop is an important milestone for the emirate and a step towards the implementation of the strategy of Dubai to become an international leader in the application of smart city technologies,” he said.

Robocop will patrol the Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC) rooms until Tuesday evening, and then move on to patrolling populated areas throughout the city.

He is able to map inside buildings and move automatically through the self-management function.

In addition, he can communicate in six languages, including Arabic and English, responding to requests from people, shake hands and give a military greeting. Thanks to the integrated tablet device, Robocop allows residents to interact with smart police services using payment cards.

The built-in robot system allows you to associate it with various channels on social networks, such as Twitter, artificial intelligence systems, mobile applications and websites.
