Bolshoi stars shone at Emirates Palace

The Bolshoi Theater of Russia again came to the Festival of Music and Fine Arts in Abu Dhabi. The festival itself this spring was held for the sixth time under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. The rapidly growing festival is being organized by the Abu Dhabi Music and Visual Arts Foundation, sponsored by the Emirates Palace Hotel. This year's festival program was rich and varied: ballet, opera, classical and Arabic music, exhibitions and educational projects. The Bolshoi ballet troupe performed in Abu Dhabi with its own gala concert on March 23. On March 27, the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra gave another open-air opera gala concert (on the terraces of the Emirates Palace), with the participation of international star Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, a blind performer with an unusual voice.
