Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Meets with Bill Gates

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussed humanitarian assistance with Bill Gates.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the UAE, today hosted Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and founder of Microsoft Corporation. He arrived in the UAE capital to attend an international health forum.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest, especially in the humanitarian sphere, coordination of efforts in areas such as assistance and development of poor countries and peoples. They also discussed the efforts of both parties to promote health, disease control and prevention, as well as important proposals and programs that will be implemented to combat the spread of disease.

The meeting was attended by Khaldun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Office for Abu Dhabi Affairs, and Muhammad Mubarak Al Mazruay, Deputy Chief of Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

This year, Bill Gates donated $ 4.6 billion to charity, making the largest contribution in 17 years. Over the course of his life, the Microsoft founder donated about $ 50 billion.
