No alcohol to be sold in Dubai next weekend

Bars and restaurants in Dubai hotels will not sell alcohol from November 30 to December 1.

Next week, alcohol will not be served in bars and restaurants throughout Dubai on the occasion of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad within 24 hours.

The heads of the tourism department sent corresponding decrees to the city institutions, warning them of non-alcoholic weekends.

A report published by the Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing (DTCM) has confirmed that the ban will be in effect from 5 p.m. on Thursday to 6 p.m. on Friday, December 1.

The non-alcoholic holiday coincides with a number of events, including Take That at Dubai Media City Amphitheater and Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens.

The final public holiday of the year will be UAE National Day. Public sector workers will be given four days off. A weekend for the private sector has not yet been announced.
