Dubai police ensure safety even under water

Dubai police will form a group to ensure the safety of beaches and coastal areas of the emirate.

Fingerprints and evidence will be collected underwater by specially trained experts from the new Dubai Police Team.

A team of 20 experts will develop their evidence-gathering skills under specific conditions. According to police, this is the first attempt of its kind in the region.

Major General Dr. Ahmad Eid Al Mansouri, Director General of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Criminology at the Police, said the creation of this team is part of the Dubai Police’s plan to formulate a future crime investigation.

The team plans to begin work next year.

The launch of the submarine team was carried out in the presence of Major General Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Chief of Dubai Police Criminal Affairs and other officials.

Team members will be trained in the use of diving equipment, finding, collecting and providing evidence in special containers, fingerprint identification.
