UAE recognized as the largest hub for migrants from India

Almost 9 million people from India currently live in the Gulf countries.

Dubai, UAE. The United Arab Emirates has placed on its territory the largest colony of migrants from India, according to a UN report. In total, there are currently 16.6 million people from India, with 8.9 million settled in the Gulf countries and 3.3 million in the UAE.

The report notes that since 2000 the number of Indians living in the United Arab Emirates has more than tripled (from 979 thousand people), the United States holds the second place in terms of population with Indian roots (2.3 million migrants). It should be noted that Mexico is also one of the largest "exporters" of migrants - the outflow of the population is 13 million people.
