On the highway between the capital of the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the speed limit is changed

The maximum allowable speed on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road in Abu Dhabi has been changed.

Abu Dhabi police on Tuesday announced a change in speed limits on a new road linking the UAE capital with the Saudi border.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road is considered the key connecting road between the UAE and the neighboring country, as well as the main route for the movement of commercial vehicles.

Updating the track increases the number of lanes from two to three on a 64-kilometer stretch between Barakah and Ghuwaifat, and also adds four lanes between Mafraq and Baynounah Forests.

Abu Dhabi police said the maximum permissible speed on the road is now 160 km / h from Mafraq bridge to Al Ghwaifat.

The police increased the number of stationary and mobile radars on the road and set up emergency and emergency response centers to ensure driver safety.
