In Dubai, a producer threatened a woman to publish obscene videos with her participation

A man will go to a jail in Dubai for threatening to post online obscene videos featuring a woman.

A television employee was jailed in Dubai for six months for threatening a Frenchwoman on social media. He promised that he would mount an obscene film with her participation, using her photographs, if she did not pay him 86 thousand dirhams ($ US23.4 thousand).

The defendant met a Frenchwoman in 2014 and convinced her that she would help her find a job in Dubai. Then he took some photos of the woman, which he later used. Two years later, he contacted a Frenchwoman and began to blackmail her.

The French police suggested they file a complaint by e-mail to the department to combat cyber crime. Employees of the department asked the Frenchwoman to tell the criminal that she was ready to pay him money, which helped in the detention.

On Tuesday, the first-instance court in Dubai accused the man of misusing social networks and extortion. A man will be deported after serving a prison term.
