Dubai opens new police stations without police

A new "smart" police station will be opened in one of the free economic zones of Dubai.

Last Saturday, it became known about the imminent opening of new police stations in Dubai, which will operate without human intervention.

Dubai police have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), according to which a police-free section will be opened within a year.

Dubai Police, together with DSOA, will work on all aspects of the project and launch it this year. The DSOA will determine the best locations for smart police centers, taking into account the needs of residents, employees and visitors of the frisons, and the police will provide the necessary technology and software for managing the centers.

Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al-Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, said the center will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will offer access to 27 services related to traffic and crime reporting, and to the 33rd public services.

He emphasized the interest of the police in facilitating customer access to these services at any time. According to him, the number of visitors to regular police stations will be reduced by 80 percent.

“In addition, the smart police station will become even more accessible for people with special needs, which will further advance Dubai along the road for the title of the happiest and smartest city in the world,” Al-Marri said.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Zaruni, DSOA Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the "vital role" of police services in ensuring the safety and happiness of citizens.

A smart police center is a self-service police station that allows community members to get Dubai police without any human intervention.
