In the United Arab Emirates will host the largest film festival for children

The largest season of the children's film festival will be held in the emirate of Sharjah.

Sharjah Emirate International Children's Film Festival, United Arab Emirates (SICFF) is gearing up for its biggest season ever. Twelve children's films, selected from around the world, are on the list of international premieres of the sixth session of SICFF 2018.

The organizers of the festival, FUNN Establishment - Sharjah Media Arts for Youth and Children, confirmed that 12 exciting premieres of children's films produced by countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Egypt and India are waiting for visitors to the festival. The event will be held from October 14 to 19.

SICFF, the first of its kind regional festival dedicated to children's cinema, is open to many genres - from animation to short films. In the category of student films, six world premieres from four countries are represented.

Expatriates from the UAE also contributed to the development of children's cinema. Alexis Josh, a citizen of the Philippines residing in the UAE, raises in his work "Disconnected" an important topic of the consequences of life in the digital age.

SICFF has 54 films this year, 34 of which were created by Middle Eastern directors. The festival will also show works from Russia, Georgia, Spain, India, Brazil, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Slovenia, Lebanon, France, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the USA and Iran.

Films will be screened at Al Jawaher Reception & Convention Center, Zero 6 Mall, Al Majaz Waterfront, Al Zora and Last Exit in Al Khawaneej, Dubai. Information on dates and times of sessions is available at www.sicff.ae.
