St. Petersburg Ballet Theater P. Tchaikovsky will show in Dubai the ballet The Nutcracker.
Dubai, UAE. The famous Nutcracker ballet, the cultural symbol of the New Year and Christmas holidays, will be shown on the stage of the Dubai Opera from December 4 to 7 performed by the soloists of the St. Petersburg Tchaikovsky Ballet Theater.
“The Nutcracker” - a ballet by P. I. Tchaikovsky in two acts on the libretto by Marius Petipa based on the tale of E. T. A. Hoffmann “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King”. The ballet premiered on December 6 (18), 1892 at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.
The ballet The Nutcracker forever entered the history of musical culture as a precious part of the great P.I. Tchaikovsky. This work is not only a fabulous New Year's story for children, but also a romantic poem that invariably resonates with the hearts of adults.
St. Petersburg Ballet Theater P.I. Tchaikovsky is a troupe of 53 professional dancers. Most of the troupe - graduates of the world famous Academy of Russian Ballet. A. Ya. Vaganova and other large Russian and foreign ballet schools. It was founded in 2014 by professional musician Pavel Yelkin.
Today the theater is one of the leading troupes of classical ballet, whose repertoire includes such masterpieces of world choreography as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet (music by P. I. Tchaikovsky), Carmina Burana (music by K. Orff), "Paquita" (music by L. Minkus). Every year, the ballet gives an average of 250 performances.
