The award-winning Mughal-e-Azam classic musical will be unveiled at Dubai Opera. Adapted by renowned playwright and director Feroz Abbas Khan, famous for his works such as Mahatma vs Ghanti and Dinner with Friends, the classic theatrical performance pays tribute to the famous 1960s movie x, shot by K. Asif.
The musical describes the dramatic and passionate story of Prince Salim, the only and spoiled heir to the throne of the Mughals, and Anarkali, a beautiful court dancer. The couple, despite all the difficulties, falls in love, but faces the wrath of the emperor Akbar, the father of Salim. The production balances between romance and tragedy, self-sacrifice and duty.
The musical Khan is an extravagant demonstration of Bollywood glamor and classic grandeur. With over 300 actors and crew, costumes by renowned designer Manish Malhorta and gorgeous sets, live-vocal production is guaranteed to give the audience a real emotional roller coaster.
