Dubai completes construction of an observatory with a planetarium

A NEW ASTRONOMIC OBSERVATORY WILL OPEN IN DUBAI, IN THE MUSHRIFF AREA, AT THE END OF 2016.

It will house the largest telescope in the Gulf countries, which will help Emirate scientists make new discoveries in the field of space exploration. The project cost is estimated at 40 million dirhams (US $ 11 million). The observatory will also “narrate” the history of the Universe and talk about the structure of the solar system. You can watch films about space at the planetarium: it will take school tours 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A family ticket to the planetarium will cost about 50 dirhams (US $ 13.7), the exposition will be updated every 6 months.
