EMIRATES STEWARDS - REAL BEAUTIFUL: SMILE, JOY AND ENERGY. BUT HOW DOES IT ALWAYS BE ALWAYS SO LOOK LUXURY? WE MET WITH EMIRATES AIRLINE, RUSSIAN-SPEAKING AIRCRAFT OXANA ARISKINA, TO FIRST TIME TO FIND OUT ALL SECRETS OF THEIR BEAUTY.

Oksana, how do you manage to look so good in flight?

Oksana: It all starts before takeoff: in order to look good and feel confident in the air, it is very important to keep fit. I try to go to the gym regularly; In addition, I have hobbies that help me stay fit, such as climbing, yoga and dancing.

It is also very important to eat right, drink plenty of water during the day and, of course, do not forget about relaxation. All this helps me to stay fresh and cheerful at work.

It is very important to maintain a good mood. You need to love your job and be optimistic about the future. I like to get to know colleagues and passengers, and have easy conversations.

Before you became part of the Emirates Airline team, did you attend any makeup courses?

Oksana: I used to be a model and, thanks to this work, I learned a lot. But before the flights, we all went through image and personal care courses as part of the training. There we learned how to keep your skin hydrated, healthy and radiant. Also in the courses, we learned to respect the Emirates corporate identity.

Looking good throughout the flight is not an easy task for most of us. What secrets make you look attractive even after 14 hours of flight?

Oksana: I don’t go out on any flight without my favorite cosmetic bag and regularly check my makeup in case I need to fix or refresh something. On long flights, we have the opportunity to relax, and I usually try to sleep a little, so that the rest of the flight I feel cheerful and energetic. To restore freshness to the skin, I use thermal water or hydrolytes in the form of a spray.

Tell us about your daily work makeup..

Oksana: Before applying makeup, I cleanse my face, then use a toner, and finally moisturize my skin. I have some favorite moisturizers, one of them with aloe vera. Eye cream is very important because the skin of the eyelids is almost 10 times thinner than the skin on the face. Then I apply makeup: first the base, then the powder, blush, eyeshadow or eyeliner, mascara and eyebrow pencil. And, of course, the finishing touch is the lipstick of an excellent red tint.

Red lipstick has already become Emirates Airline's signature style. Are there any requirements for choosing lipstick?

Oksana: Emirates flight attendants can use lipsticks in different shades of red, if combined with a scarlet hat. The brand does not matter. I also use balm before applying red lipstick to moisturize my lips.

How do you care for sensitive skin around your eyes?

Oksana: Every day, morning and evening, I use a cream enriched with vitamins A and C. Before flying, I apply a moisturizer, because the air at an altitude of 12 kilometers is extremely dry. Also on weekends I use special home remedies that my mother used - cucumber, tea bags and milk.

Let's talk about teeth. Are there any requirements on this?

Oksana: There are no special requirements, but healthy teeth and gums are perhaps the most important component of an attractive appearance. I regularly brush my teeth and floss - both in flight and at home. Whether to use breath fresheners is everyone's personal choice. We are also paid an annual cash allowance so that we visit the dentist and keep our teeth healthy and beautiful.

How do you care for your hair? Are there any styling requirements?

Oksana: At the courses we were told which hairstyles and hairstyles are best suited to the corporate style of Emirates. Long hair must be removed upward and stabbed. We were shown how to make an impeccable bunch using a special “donut”. In addition to the bundle, you can make a "French shell", or "twist", as well as weave certain types of braids. We are advised to use hair care products to make them beautiful and neat, which favorably emphasizes Emirates signature scarlet hat.

And what are the requirements for hands and nails?

Oksana: I always have hand cream with me, and in flight I use it regularly to moisturize my skin. Manicure should be neat and short. Mandatory either red or clear varnish, or French manicure.

How do you deal with changing time zones and transfer jetlag?

Oksana: It is always difficult if your body does not know whether it is day or night, and what you should do now is go to sleep or, conversely, wake up. Each person copes with this in his own way; there is no universal means of combating jetlag. Some team members prefer to live in Dubai, while others follow a change of time zones during the flight. Personally, I listen to my body every time and trust him with this decision. It is imperative, however, to get enough sleep before flying.

What else do you do to maintain strength on, say, a 16-hour flight?

Oksana: In flight, I drink a lot of water with lemon to prevent dehydration. I also drink green tea with honey and lemon when I need caffeine to cheer up. But on a long flight, a positive attitude and communication with colleagues and passengers always helps best.

How much time does it take you to prepare for the flight?

Oksana: It usually takes about one and a half hours to prepare. I always eat before I go to work, and take a snack with me for the flight.

What decorative products and skin care products do you use to solve the problem of low humidity?

Oksana: I like to try new things and ask my colleagues for advice. I really like Kiehl's brand because their products are suitable for my skin, but I also use the SK-II series, aloe vera oil and other oils.

What is the most fascinating thing for you in your work?

Oksana: The most interesting thing is, of course, the opportunity to meet wonderful people of different nationalities, get to know them, get to know them closer. I love my work because it gives me the opportunity to study other cultures, traditions, places, sometimes even learn a few words in a foreign language. All this unusually expands the boundaries of the familiar and familiar.

And the hardest thing?

Oksana: The most difficult thing is the need to solve various problems at an altitude of 12 km above the earth with a minimum of available capabilities, because you only have what is on board the plane. Sometimes I am simply struck by the ingenuity with which we solve a particular problem. And this makes you remember that nothing is impossible, you just have to show a bit of ingenuity.
