The official language is Arabic. But the vast majority of the population speaks excellent English.
Hindi and Urdu are also widely used. Most of the shopkeepers, hotel and telephone network employees speak English, and you can often hear Russian.
Question. Will the country's guests feel comfortable without knowledge of English?
Answer. Quite. Up to half a million Russian tourists come to the UAE annually, so the local market has adapted to it. In expensive hotels, as a rule, there is a Russian-speaking staff. The same applies to large stores (as well as small ones around Nasser Square). Don't be afraid to look like a black sheep with your English.
