No one knows for sure when and who guessed to “upload” the first chapter of the book or the first issue of the magazine to the World Wide Web, but from that very moment the debate around the thesis that “paper should die” has not subsided. Fights with varying success have been going on for a couple of decades, but the winners in this dispute between "retrograde" and "innovators" (recently increasingly called "innovators") are not visible. So we, not wanting to once be in the camp of the vanquished, try, on the one hand, to keep our nose upwind, but on the other hand, do not forget about the good old pulp: sometimes reality is ahead of the wildest forecasts, but do all forecasts come true?

The topic of forecasts, by the way, has become more popular than ever in this October, because it was on October 21, 2015 that events unfolded in the second part of the cult fantastic trilogy "Back to the Future", which was released in 1989.

And if the filmmakers got a blunder with self-lacing sneakers and flying skateboards, then we began to open the door with a fingerprint in the office of the Russian Emirates Publishing House back in 2012. Optimistic innovators will surely remind us of glasses-phones (Google Glass) and video conferences (Skype), but most of them were expecting a completely different thing - flying cars and home thermonuclear stoves! And where, I ask you, is the food hydrator presented in the film under the Black & Decker brand? And why did the heroes of the film in 2015 not have a single smartphone in their hands? What kind of a loser is this Marty McFly - can you imagine how many cool “selfies” we made for Facebook and Instagram if you were 20 years ahead!

That is why we do not forget about our dear and dear to the paper editions, which are in our readers no less demand than 11-12 years ago. We not only do not close the old "paper" projects, but also open new ones - just recently announced the successful launch of regional versions of the magazine "Business Emirates", and today readers are already leafing through the second issue of the magazine in St. Petersburg and the fourth in Kazakhstan!

But we, of course, do not forget about our digital projects - we continue to invest our souls in our accounts on popular social networks, and we are pleased to see that this resonates with the hearts of loyal readers - there are already 30,000 subscribers on our Facebook page, group - more than 6 thousand carefully and lovingly selected participants. By the way, our Instagram account also unexpectedly activated - it turned out that it was enough to start updating it daily, filling it with beautiful and vivid photographs, as it began to grow with “likes” and “followers”, which were only a few hundred in the summer, and today more than five thousand!

And finally, if you still don’t know what a QR code is, and your smartphone doesn’t have an application that can read these QR codes, run and download the QR Droid via Google Play or the App Store! It is with the help of such (or similar) application that we are not the first time combining the undoubted advantages of a paper magazine with virtual reality, presented to us by new digital technologies.

Enjoy reading! And don't forget our hashtag: #RussianEmirates
