Let's play in contrasts

The spring-summer couture collection CHANEL, which CARL LAGERFELD presented in Paris at the beginning of this year, was traditionally saturated with contrasts and unexpectedly sporty.

The famous Grand Palais in Paris for one day turned into a futuristic sports ground, where the couture collection Chanel Cambon Club was presented. The aluminum floor, minimalistic decor, muslin veiled mirrors perfectly conveyed the mood of the near future. According to the maestro himself, he wanted to create a "nightclub from another galaxy." The show was accompanied by the sounds of an orchestra conducted by the poet and singer Sebastian Tellier; models to music descended the stairs from both sides, sculpturally skirting the stage. Lagerfeld again flirted with the codes of the House, combining the absolutely feminine couture symbol - a corset - with the integral attribute of sports - sneakers, thereby forming a young, incredibly energetic and modern look. Trump aces of the new image have become a slim silhouette, shape and cut.

The collection is made in traditional Chanel colors - white and ecru, and is diluted with pastel pink and fluorescent gray, as well as shades of blue, green, copper and, for more dramatic effect, even black.

The legendary tweed jacket is presented as a bolero with rounded shoulders and wide sleeves, while the shape of the costume gives the silhouette a “tromple” effect: visual illusion is created by wide hips and an exaggerated narrow waist. A flexible cut of a jacket and skirt facilitates the image, "sealed" in a corset. Pantsuits, tunics, vests, tight trousers that always lengthen the silhouette, sparkling tulle shorts remind of the sports spirit of the collection. The accents are placed with the help of sports accessories: knee pads and elbow pieces, a banana belt bag, as well as gloves dearly loved by Lagerfeld.

Some dresses look like kimonos, others are decorated with luxurious, shiny feathers in deep colors. The patchwork texture and accessories further enhance the concentration of style. And the haute couture sneakers, embroidered with sequins and decorated with lace, look like a work of art. A game of contrasts, sporty chic and graphics - Lagerfeld, as before, remained true to himself.
