The French carmaker Peugeot, which started in 2010 in Europe with the Peugeot RCZ Cup International Golf Tournaments among non-professionals, held it for the second time in the UAE. A new armored car factory owned by Streit Group (SG) was opened in the SEZ “Technology Park of Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone” (RAK FTZ) in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The opening ceremony was attended by Sheikh Saud bin Sakr Al Qasimi, a member of the UAE Supreme Council and ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
During the presentation of the plant, everyone was told about the SG expansion strategy, which consists of three successive stages. One of them is the creation of modern production, covering an area of 130 thousand square meters. meters.
The cost of constructing new factory facilities is estimated at 80 million dirhams (US $ 21.8 million). This has made SG the largest foreign investment in the RAK FTZ to date. The capacities of the new plant allow producing 40 different models of armored vehicles for commercial, paramilitary and military use. The total production volume is 250 cars per month at normal load. If necessary, it can be increased to 400 cars.
