Five Days That Shook Dubai

THE DUBAI WEEK OF FASHION SHOWED A FRESH VIEW OF THE MIDDLE EASTERN DESIGNERS ON AUTUMN AND WINTER TRENDS 2011-2012.

Neither LONDON, nor MILAN, nor PARIS, nor MORE NEW YORK Could not boast of such a variety of ideas and fashionable collections, both from the famous, and from the young and the very old. DUBAI WEEK OF FASHION TOTAL FOR SEVERAL YEARS OF ITS EXISTENCE I VISIBLE DEMONSTRATED THE FASHIONABLE PUBLIC, TO JOURNALISTS AND CRITICISTS - THERE IS IT, A NEW PLATFORM FOR SELF-EXPRESSION, IT IS SPECIFICALLY IMPORTANT! AND EVEN EVIDENCE THAT EASTERN CLOTHING IS NOT ONLY THE BLACK AND WHITE GAMMA RELATING TO THE COUNTRIES OF ARABIA, AND THE WHOLE COLOR SPECTRUM, BIG TASTE AND IN THE MOST FABULOUS COMBINATIONS, WAS APPEARED SHORTLY!

Recall, Dubai Fashion Week is held twice a year - in the fall, when the models of the upcoming spring-summer collections are demonstrated, and, accordingly, in the spring, when the time comes to take a closer look at the fashion of autumn and winter. This Fall-Winter Week was held in the Zabeel Hall of the Dubai International Center for Exhibitions and Congresses, from April 19 to 23. All five days on the catwalk, interesting and unusual creations were shown, dedicated to a variety of countries, themes and events from the life of young and promising designers.

So, on the first day, Sama Ali and Sakina Mokhsin showed, and the first participant dedicated her thematic collection to the beauty and brilliance of Arabian women, calling it "Dubai Luxury", and the second presented a whole line of finished clothes from 18 items. The second defile was held by the sisters Miriam and Musa Al Mazro, showing the collection 'G'Maash', inspired by portraits of eastern women of the XIX century. Then, the only male Lomar Thobe ready-to-wear men's clothing line was shown at Dubai Fashion Week, after which the catwalk bloomed again with bright colors when Pakistani supermodel Mehrin Said literally fluttered on it, displaying a luxurious collection of national women's clothing by designer Saba Wassim called 'La Chantal' . The first day ended with a show of the most beautiful abai from the Emirate fashion house Al Motahajiba and a demonstration of the new autumn-winter collection of Pakistani designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin.

During the second day of the Week, Tatyana Akeyeva, a Russian-speaking fashion designer, living in Jordan, presented her collection of the Fall / Winter 2011-2012 season, entitled “Return to Glamor”. According to Tatyana, the models from her collection are "designed for women who want to look graceful without any effort."

The show began with a demonstration of black and red lace underwear. Then the audience was presented with elegant women's dresses, the beauty of which was emphasized by well-chosen stylish clutch bags. The cut of the dresses was made by the fashion designer in such a way as to emphasize the female figure. Ancient Greek women's tunics with an open neckline, complemented by beautiful satin bows, inspired the creation of some models by the designer’s collection. In total, Tatyana Akeeva showed 38 models of finished clothes in Dubai. The prototype for the collection was the glamorous style of the 1920-30s. In addition to Tatyana Akeeva, on the second day of Dubai Fashion Week, designers of Montaha Al Agil, Eli Fawaz, Jeanine Haute Couture and Mausan Fashion fashion houses, and young promising artist Rabia Zet demonstrated their creations.

The third day, as always, was dedicated to young talents. The first show was called Emerging Talent and made it possible to see the world through the eyes of modern Middle Eastern youth. The Indian designer Shrekant, who first showed his collections at Dubai Fashion Week in 2010, became the star of his second fashion show, this time his main theme was three-dimensional space - 3D. Lebanon-based designer Paula K presented the Metamorphoses collection, followed by a show of Fahima K from South Africa on the Gold Rush theme and the Modesty collection by Aisha Al Alili. The third day of the fashion show of the famous Indian luxury boutique Mumbai Se finished during which multi-brand collections of famous and novice designers and fashion designers from India were demonstrated.

The fourth day of the week was again turned into an extravaganza of colors and styles. Designers Jiyya Misra, Arshiya Khan, Anum Musa, Aditi Jaggi Rastogi, Priyanka Kakkar, Hadi Katra, Fatma Mehdi Al Majid, Muhammad Azim Jufa and Miriam showed their art to grateful spectators. The quintessential fourth day of shows was all sorts of variations on the theme of the national women's outerwear of the Middle East - Abaya. It turns out that black and all its shades, complemented by interesting elements of the decor, can be so expressive that it is impossible to look away.

And finally, the fifth final day, was given to those who have repeatedly been awarded the prestigious prizes of Dubai Fashion Week. Among the designers who participated in the final shows of this week were Surbi Jaggi, winner of the Dubai Fashion Week 2010 Young Talent Competition, as well as design duo Lamis and Iman Al Hajri, Aartivija Gupta, Parul Chopra and Shriya, Safa and Miriam Al Midfay, Amira Aamer , fashion houses Nabrman and Hanayen. And finally, the grotesque and vibrant finale concluded Fashion Week with a delightful show by the famous Indian fashion designer Rajesh Pratar Singh.

For the first time, completing its ninth season, Dubai Fashion Week has enabled all fans of the fashion industry to watch live shows on du Live! channel and Mobile TV, thanks to a cooperation agreement with a major emirate telecommunications operator Du.

Summing up, the chairman of the organizing committee of Dubai Fashion Week, Manuj Bhovani, said: “We are happy that the most talented and extraordinary-minded fashion designers took part in Fashion Week this spring. We are pleased that thanks to cooperation with Du, we were able to show the entire show live to a huge the number of users of this company As a fast-growing regional brand, Dubai Fashion Week aims to provide young designers with a unique platform for creativity, which I am sure everyone should be able to familiarize themselves with the inhabitants of the Middle East! "

In conclusion, it remains to say that the English company Rimmel London became the official “make-up” partner of Dubai Fashion Week 2011. Thanks to high-quality and long-lasting makeup products, make-up artists managed to create stunning looks for each fashion show. Every day in the pavilion of DNM-2011, a team of 13 professional makeup artists worked tirelessly. All hairstyles for models were made using modern hair dryers, such as the Valera Pro Ionic 2000 Tourmaline, and styling irons from the Swiss company Valera. By the way, here, walking on the sidelines of DNM, anyone could get free and professional advice on hair care from stylist David John and style their hair like Hollywood stars do. For example, one of David John’s recommendations: “After the hair is dried with a hairdryer, apply a small amount of serum to shine your hair and distribute it along its entire length. Then the hair, whether straight or curly, will look well-groomed and shiny.” Try something?

Five days passed like five minutes. Dubai Fashion Week is Over - Long Live Fashion Week! And, really, it remains to wait quite a bit. In October, new meetings and new names are waiting for us, as well as a new reason to think about what “modern fashion” is, seen through the prism of the East or the West. See you!
