UAE State Security Advisor to Visit Washington

UAE State Security Advisor to visit Washington to hold talks on deterring Iran’s aggression.

Top officials from three countries: the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, will meet in Washington to discuss the "Iranian issue."

On the eve of the announcement of the creation of a tripartite commission, which will include the United States, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The activities of the commission will be aimed at combating the destabilizing policies of Iran.

According to an official statement from Donald Trump’s administration, a tripartite commission will be organized during a visit to the United States by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Ibn Salman, which began on Monday.

Committee members will meet regularly to discuss tactics and mechanisms for achieving mutual interests.

The primary task for the new group is to confront Iran.

Most likely, before the departure of Prince Mohammed from Washington on Saturday, the authorities of Saudi Arabia and the United States will make an official statement on this issue. The establishment of the committee will undoubtedly involve representatives of three countries.

UAE National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnun bin Zayd Al Nahyan will arrive in Washington at the end of the week.

It should be noted that the creation of a tripartite commission was the result of numerous meetings of the authorities of the three countries on the development of a strategy to confront Iran. The US authorities see the committee as "huge potential" and stress the need to deter the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, responsible for committing crimes against Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeyr previously criticized Iran’s "dark politics" in the region and called for holding Tehran accountable. Most likely, this topic will become the main one in the negotiations of Sheikh Mohammed in Washington, including during a meeting with Donald Trump, two separate meetings with Vice President Mike Pence and US National Security Advisor Herbert MacMaster, as well as later in the week, during meetings with Secretary of Defense James Mattis and CIA Director Mike Pompeo.

US officials say the Trump administration still plans to organize a summit for its partners in the Persian Gulf in May, despite the unresolved Qatari issue. In the event that consensus is not reached on the Qatar issue, it is most likely that the central theme of the May summit will be the confrontation of Iran’s aggressive policy.
