Foreigners marry for the first time at a mass wedding ceremony in the UAE

In the United Arab Emirates, a wedding ceremony will take place immediately for ten couples, including expats.

On June 12, 2019, the General Women's Union (GWU) will organize a traditional mass wedding ceremony in Abu Dhabi. This year, a couple of foreigners will take part in it for the first time.

All expenses for ten couples who enter into an alliance on this day are covered by the sponsors. Such events are held to encourage UAE citizens to marry without worrying about expenses.

Indian entrepreneur Dr. B.R. Shetty, founder and chairman of the board of NMC Healthcare, and one of the sponsors of the ceremony, noted that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and ruler of Dubai, set a “good example” by holding a wedding ceremony right away three sons last week.
