Dubai taxis have been equipped with facilities for receiving payments on Nol and NFC cards.
Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed the installation of devices for accepting payments with NOL cards, credit cards or smartphones using Apple Pay or Samsung Pay technologies in all emirate taxis.
"This project was carried out gradually over several stages, until the entire fleet of 10.8 thousand taxis was covered," said Khaled Al-Avadi, director of transport systems at the Public Transport Agency of RTA.
He noted that with the introduction of technology, the number of passengers who prefer new payment methods has increased. Khaled Al-Awadi emphasized that the initiative does not exclude the possibility of paying in cash.
“Rather, it offers several alternatives for the convenience and happiness of taxi passengers,” he added.
